Mustard Mid-Century Geometric
About This Item
The DipaliZ mid-century desk mat is a neoprene mat printed with a geometric design in mustard, gray and black. Three sizes are sold: 12" x 18", 12" x 22" and 16" x 32". Three colors give this design more depth than a two-color geometric, with black doing the work of an outline. Neoprene holds the mat steady under a keyboard and a mouse. Sizes and material are taken from this product's own specification.

The story behind this design
Adding black to a mustard-and-gray scheme changes it completely: the shapes gain an edge and the whole pattern reads as drawn rather than blocked in. That is what puts this design squarely in mid-century territory, where hard outlines were the house style. The mood is graphic and a little austere, a design with opinions about where a line should stop.
