The story behind this design
A few line-drawn branches, hills and leaf shapes are placed on a pale ground with a great deal of empty space left between them. Nothing is filled in; the whole design is contour only, in a single muted ink. That spareness is what makes it sit quietly under a sleeping animal, and it is the opposite approach to the checkered bed in the same range.
