The story behind this design
Two lines of lettering need a frame or they float, so the flower border was drawn open at the sides rather than closed all round. Pastel pinks and butter yellows were used because the shirt colors themselves are pale and a strong palette would have jumped off them. The script was kept soft-edged so the chosen name, whatever its length, sits comfortably under the word above it.
