The story behind this design

Airlume cotton is combed to remove the shorter fibers before spinning, which is why a jersey made from it holds a print more cleanly than a standard ring-spun tee. The design uses that: the mother and daughter motif is drawn as a continuous line, and a continuous line is the first thing a rough knit would break up. On a smooth jersey it stays unbroken.
