The story behind this design
On a dark shirt the drawing has to be read as light on dark, which reverses everything: the trunks become the gaps and the shafts of light between them become the ink. That inversion suits Muir Woods, where the memory most people carry away is of the light rather than the trees. A single pale sage ink does the whole print, and Forest Green swallows just enough of it to make the grove feel further off.
