The story behind this design

Flowers on navy is the reverse of the usual arrangement, where a pale cloth carries a dark drawing. Working the other way round means the blooms have to supply their own light, so the pinks are pushed brighter than they would be on cream and the greens are kept cool to stop the whole thing turning warm. The navy then does what a mount does for a print.
