The story behind this design
Here the olive branches are looser and more painterly than a botanical study, with soft-edged leaves and small five-petal flowers opening between the fruit. The stems drift diagonally instead of sitting upright, which gives the pattern movement across the width of the apron. On beige the greens read sun-bleached and Provencal; on black the same artwork turns into a night-garden print with the flowers doing the lifting.
