Everything in this design comes from one plant: olive branches with the leaves silvered on their undersides, whole olives in green and near-black, and jars of them packed in brine. Holding to a single subject keeps the palette to olive green, cream and a deep purple-black, which is a narrower range than the Italian kitchen version and reads as calmer on a laid table.
