The story behind this design
Knitting a parrot rather than printing one forces a different kind of drawing: every curve has to resolve into stitches, so the birds arrive blocky and bright in the way a tapestry bird is blocky and bright. The palette leans on greens, reds and yellows strong enough to survive that translation. The result reads less as a tropical print and more as something out of a knitting pattern book, which is the better joke on a cardigan.
