The story behind this design
Clouds printed badly turn into tie-dye, and the difference is edges. These are built with soft but definite boundaries, each form holding its own shape in pale pink, cream and a cool blue-gray rather than dissolving into its neighbor, and the value range is kept narrow across the whole print. On a long short that narrowness matters: a high-contrast sky would break the leg in half wherever a dark mass happened to land.
