The story behind this design
The flowers are painted large and loose, the way watercolor behaves when the paper is still wet, so petal edges bleed softly into the ground instead of holding a line. The palette is deliberately low in contrast: powder pink, buttermilk, pale sage and dusty lilac, with no dark accent to anchor it. The mood is airy and a little faded, like a chintz that has been in a sunny room for years.
