The story behind this design
The stars are set at varying sizes and angles rather than in rows, so the towel avoids the flag-replica look that a regimented field would give it. Red and blue are separated by generous white, which lets the pattern stay legible even when the towel is bunched on a chair. The mood is Fourth of July picnic rather than ceremony, and it is the only print in this towel range that is not a stripe.
