The story behind this design
This design takes only the star field and lets it fill the whole length, so the stars sit at different angles and sizes instead of in the flag's neat rows. Red and navy are held deliberately deep so the white stars carry all the brightness. Cropping to the canton alone keeps the design readable at bookmark width, where full stripes would turn into noise.
