The story behind this design

Five percent spandex is what lets a circle skirt hold its waistband without a zip, and the print was planned around that stretch: the artwork is slightly oversized so that when the fabric is pulled at the waist the stars return to their intended proportions. Below the hip, where there is no tension, the stripes open out at full width.
