The story behind this design

A single peacock occupies most of each napkin, its tail swept to one side so the composition survives being folded in half or rolled. The feathers are drawn in deep teal and bottle green with gold eyes, and the ground is left pale so the bird carries the color on its own. Set out four of them and the birds face different ways around the table, which was clearly the intention.
