The story behind this design
Palm fronds painted in watercolor go soft at the tips, and this design uses that: the leaves enter from the corners, dense and saturated where they meet the edge, then dissolve into pale washes toward the center of the cover. That fade is what makes room for the name without a panel or a box behind it. The greens are cool and slightly blue, closer to shade under a palm than to bright sun on one.
