The story behind this design
Two fruits carry the whole pattern: whole pineapples drawn with the crosshatched skin visible, and watermelon cut into wedges so the seeds show. They alternate rather than mixing, which stops the design turning into a fruit bowl. Yellow, coral and two greens do all the work, and the white ground is left generous so the napkins still read as table linen rather than as a beach towel.
