The story behind this design
Poinsettia is usually drawn as a single flat star, and here it is built up instead: each bract sits slightly over the one beneath so the shape has depth. The reds are warmed toward coral and set on pink rather than the usual deep green, which pulls the motif out of December and into the rest of the year. Narrow leaves fill the gaps so the repeat never leaves an obvious seam.
