The story behind this design
Origami folds turn a flat sheet into facets, and each facet catches light differently depending on which way it tilts. Knitting cannot fold, so the design fakes the effect with tone: the same pink appears in three or four values, arranged so the eye reads creases that are not physically there. It is a quiet piece of trickery, and it is the reason a flat knit surface ends up looking like folded paper.
