The story behind this design
A real caution sign works by being ugly: high-contrast yellow, a stick figure, no humor at all. This one borrows the format exactly, down to the heavy sans lettering and the framed pictogram, and then replaces the stick figure with a banana peel drawn as a cartoon. The comedy is entirely in the gap between the official layout and the silly subject, which is why nothing about the typography is softened.
