The story behind this design
Dots of two sizes are spaced so the pattern never settles into rows, and some of them resolve into paw shapes on a second look. Nothing is centered, so the mat has no wrong way round when it is pushed about. The restraint is deliberate: two shapes, one repeat, no focal point.
