The story behind this design

On a tee the spiral has to survive being looked at from a few feet away rather than studied, so the bands are drawn wider here than a poster version would need and the color changes fall on the turns rather than between them. The sequence runs the full spectrum but leaves out the browns, which is what keeps the middle of the spiral bright instead of going murky. On Pepper the whole thing reads like a decal on a washed-out beach shirt.
