The story behind this design

The rainbow here is drawn as a brushstroke rather than a graphic arc, so the bands overlap slightly where the colors meet and the whole thing looks painted rather than printed. The lettering curves along beneath it, following the arc. On a white ground the six colors carry the entire design, which is why no other ink was added.
