The story behind this design
Synthwave lives or dies on the horizon. Here the grid lines converge on a vanishing point set low in the frame, which gives a nine-inch pad a surprising amount of depth, and the sun above it is banded rather than solid, the way it appeared on album sleeves in 1984. Magenta and cyan carry the neon while the ground stays near-black, so the glow has something to sit against instead of washing out.
