The story behind this design
The stripes here are irregular rather than evenly spaced, with wide bands of rust and olive broken by thin lines of cream, so the repeat reads as woven cloth rather than printed rule. The palette is entirely autumnal: terracotta, moss, ochre and a dull gold. Vertical stripes on a pencil cut do the obvious flattering work, but the muddied colors are what stop it looking like sportswear.
