The story behind this design

The lettering rises across the chest on a shallow curve, which does the work of the phrase without needing an illustration to explain it. Rays are drawn as tapering wedges that thin out before they reach the edge of the print, so nothing squares off into a block. Warm ochre and a pale cream are the only two inks, which keeps the whole thing readable at arm's length on black.
