The story behind this design
Camouflage is built to break up an outline, and on a round cushion that works in the design's favor: the shapes run off every edge with nowhere to line up. Clay, moss, sand and a deep olive overlap in soft-edged blots, each one slightly transparent where it crosses another, so the pattern has depth without any drawn line in it. Keeping the palette to four earth tones is what lets a camouflage print sit in a nursery without reading as military.
