About This Item
The DipaliZ Golden Retriever Poster is a matte paper print of a patriotic golden retriever, made for the 250th anniversary year. It is offered in five square sizes from 10 by 10 up to 18 by 18 inches. Because every size is square, the artwork is composed once and holds its proportions whichever you choose. The same design is sold as a DipaliZ tote bag.

The story behind this design
A square format is unforgiving for an animal portrait, because there is no long axis to lay the body along. The answer here is to crop to the head and shoulders and let the dog fill the frame, with the patriotic elements kept to the background rather than draped over the animal. That keeps it a portrait of a dog that happens to be celebratory, rather than a flag with a dog in front of it.

Care
Hang out of direct sunlight, which fades any print over time. Handle a matte surface by the edges, since fingerprints show on it, and frame behind glass if the poster is going somewhere humid.
