The story behind this design
Blossom is the organizing idea: branches cross the cloth in long diagonals and the eggs sit where the flowers cluster, so the pattern has direction instead of an even scatter. The blossoms are painted in white and pale pink with gray-brown twigs holding them together. The mood is a fruit tree in early flower, and the eggs read as an afterthought rather than the subject.
