The story behind this design
A tote is a flat rectangle, which is a gift for a crowd scene: the creatures can be stacked and overlapped right to the edges without anything getting lost around a seam. They are drawn in one wobbly line weight with pale lilac, mint and peach fills, and the expressions run from resigned to openly unimpressed. On the Natural canvas the pastels sit soft; on Black they read as chalk.
