The story behind this design
These creatures are the tired end of the doodle family. Eyes are half shut, ears droop, one of them has clearly given up entirely, and the linework loosens to match, with strokes that trail off instead of closing. The pastel fills are kept pale so they still read on Sand and White as well as on Navy and Black, which is the practical reason the palette stays soft.
