The story behind this design
Snowflakes run behind the main motif here, so the design has a foreground and a background rather than a single flat layer. Wrapping artwork around a sphere means no edge is ever fully in view, and the snowflake field keeps the surface interesting from every angle. The bells and tree versions share that snowflake ground, which is what makes them read as a pair when both are hung.
