The story behind this design
Laying the planets out in a row is a diagram, not a picture, and the drawing leans into that: this is the solar system as a school poster rather than a space opera. Each planet is given its own surface treatment, so Jupiter's bands and Saturn's rings do the identifying rather than labels.
