DipaliZ Sparkling Nights Travel Mug Premium Stainless Steel

The DipaliZ Sparkling Nights Travel Mug holds 15 fluid ounces in a stainless steel body. The print is a bokeh night sky: soft circles of light at different sizes and depths of focus. It reads as festive without being a holiday motif, which is the reason this mug stays in a cupboard rotation past January.

The story behind this design

Bokeh is an accident of optics that photographers learned to want, and drawing it deliberately means faking a lens: the circles nearest the viewer are largest and softest, the ones behind smaller and sharper. This pattern layers three depths that way, with warm gold lights against a deep blue-black. There is no horizon and no subject, which is what keeps it abstract rather than a picture of something.

Frequently asked questions

Q: How much does this travel mug hold?
A: Fifteen fluid ounces.

Q: What is the Sparkling Nights design?
A: A night sky rendered as bokeh: soft circles of light at varying sizes and focus, as a camera records distant lights out of focus.

Q: What is the mug made from?
A: Stainless steel, with the artwork printed onto the outside of the body.

Q: Is this only a holiday design?
A: No. A bokeh night sky reads as festive in December and simply as a light pattern the rest of the year, so the mug is not confined to the season.
