The story behind this design
Shamrock designs usually fill the glass, which is a mistake, because whatever is printed on a pint glass is seen through whatever is inside it. This one keeps the leaves to a band and leaves the body of the glass clear, so the drink is still the main event and the shamrocks sit as a frame around it. The green was chosen a shade deeper than the usual St Patrick's green so it does not disappear against a pale lager.
