About This Item
The DipaliZ starry night blanket is a woven throw carrying a constellation design. Three sizes are sold: 52 by 37 inches, 60 by 50 inches and 80 by 60 inches. Two finish options are offered, artwork and photo. Because the design is woven rather than printed, the pattern shows on the surface as texture and does not sit on top of the cloth. It works on a sofa, over a bed or folded into a picnic basket.

The story behind this design
Named constellations are joined by fine lines across a dark ground, with the brighter stars given more weight than the rest so the shapes actually resolve. The figures are left implied rather than drawn, which is how anyone reading a real sky sees them. Woven in thread the stars lose their hard edge and glow slightly instead, which suits a blanket better than a crisp print would.
