About This Item
The DipaliZ Navy Yellow Diagonal Bento Lunch Box is a compact lunch container with a wooden lid, listed in one size. The print is an original diagonal stripe pattern in retro red, navy and yellow, cutting across the box at an angle rather than banding it horizontally. The wooden lid makes it hand wash only. It is the boldest of the three DipaliZ wooden-lid bento designs.

The story behind this design
Turning stripes off the horizontal changes what they do: a diagonal band makes an object look like it is moving, which is why sports kit and racing livery use them. The angle here is shallow enough to stay calm, and the yellow is used sparingly against the navy so it reads as an accent rather than a warning. The red band is the one that dates the design to the right decade.
Frequently asked questions
Q: What size is the DipaliZ navy and yellow striped bento box?
A: It is listed in one size.
Q: Are the stripes straight or diagonal?
A: Diagonal. The bands run at an angle across the box rather than horizontally.
Q: What is the lid made of?
A: The lid is wooden, so the box is hand wash only.
Q: How does this differ from the other DipaliZ striped bento boxes?
A: All three use the same wooden-lid box. This one has diagonal bands in retro red, navy and yellow; the others carry horizontal pastel stripes and purple stripes.
Care
Hand wash in warm soapy water and dry the wooden lid fully before putting it back on the box. Do not soak the lid and do not put it in a dishwasher.
