The story behind this design
A rainbow is a gradient, and gradients are exactly what a small printed surface handles worst, so the bands here are kept distinct rather than blended into each other. The sun gives the composition a fixed point, which stops the arcs from reading as an abstract stripe pattern. Bright as it is, the design keeps white space between the elements, and that is what makes a face-down card easy on the eye across a long game.
Frequently asked questions
Q: What is printed on the Sun and Rainbows deck?
A: The card backs carry a sun and rainbows design. The faces are the standard suits and values.
Q: What size and stock are the cards?
A: Poker size, 2.5 by 3.5 inches, on smooth 300 gsm premium-coated cardstock with a semi glossy finish.
Q: Is this deck suitable as a children's gift?
A: The artwork is bright and friendly, and the cards are a standard deck, so they suit family card games as well as adult ones.
Q: Do the cards come in a box?
A: Yes, the deck is supplied boxed, which is also the best way to keep coated cards flat between games.
Care
Keep the deck boxed and dry, and out of strong sunlight. Bright inks on coated stock fade faster than dark ones.
