The story behind this design
Light is the subject rather than the place: the palms are dropped almost to silhouette so the lit patches of water read as the brightest thing in the frame. Contrast is pushed further than in the other backwaters pieces. The result carries across a room in a way the quieter versions do not.
Frequently asked questions
Q: What is the sun and shade in the title?
A: The design works the Kerala backwaters in strong contrast, with bright open water set against deep shade under the palms.
Q: What frame comes with this poster?
A: An ayous wood frame, offered in black, red oak or white.
Q: How many sizes are offered?
A: Thirteen sizes are offered, from 8x10 inches up to 24x36 inches, including five square shapes.
Q: How does this differ from the other DipaliZ Kerala backwaters posters?
A: This is the high-contrast version of the scene. The Boatman and Tranquil Escape listings center on a figure on the water, and the plain Kerala Backwaters listing has no figure and only portrait sizes.
Care
Dust the frame and glazing with a dry, soft cloth. Strong sunlight on a high-contrast print flattens it over time, so choose a wall out of direct sun.
