The story behind this design
Terrazzo began as a way of using up marble offcuts, and that spirit of gathered scraps is what the pattern keeps. Chips of coral, lemon, teal and violet are thrown across a soft off-white ground at every angle, none of them touching. The scatter is even enough that no part of the mat looks busier than another, which is what stops a confetti pattern from becoming noisy underfoot.
