The story behind this design

Real terrazzo works because the chips are broken rather than cut, so none of the flecks here is a circle: each is an angular shard with three or four flat sides. They are scattered at two densities, sparser through the middle and heavier towards the edges, which mimics how the mix settles when it is poured. Clay, charcoal and a faint ochre sit on a bone ground, with no fleck touching another.
