The story behind this design
A Hawaiian print works by scale: the blooms are drawn far larger than life so only two or three fit across the bodice. Broad monstera-shaped leaves slide behind them in a darker tone, giving the flowers something solid to sit against. Nothing is evenly spaced, which is what separates a tropical print from a wallpaper.
