The story behind this design

Most of the Rudolf garments in this range put the reindeer on bare cloth. This one gives him a printed ground instead, which changes the whole balance: the background block has to be large enough to read as deliberate rather than as a smudge behind the figure, so the artwork occupies more of the chest than its siblings do. It also means the design looks the same on all three shirt colors, because the printed panel covers the fabric underneath.
