The story behind this design
The elephant stands on a single back foot with its trunk curled upward, a pose that is absurd for an animal of that weight and is exactly why the drawing works. The line is loose and slightly wobbly rather than technical, and the gray of the body shifts warmer where the light falls. Citron was clearly chosen as a foil: the acid yellow throws the gray forward instead of letting it sink.
