The story behind this design
The elephant stands square to the viewer and its body is given over entirely to mandala work: concentric rings, petal borders and fine dotted lines that bend with the shape of the ear and the trunk. Indigo and turquoise carry the pattern, with saffron picking out the smallest details against the shirt color. The design works as a single centered motif rather than a scene, which is why it sits well on the Gold shirt as readily as the Black.
