The story behind this design
The pattern is a grid of triangles and half-circles in saturated red, teal and mustard, set so that no two neighboring shapes share a color. It was drawn flat and hard-edged on purpose: glazed ceramic holds a crisp line, and the gloss makes the color sit up. The feel is mid-century graphic rather than hand-painted.
