The story behind this design
Geometric banding suits a cylinder better than almost anything else, because horizontal rows meet themselves cleanly all the way round with no seam to hide. This pattern stacks chevrons, diamonds and stepped shapes in rows of varying depth, so the eye travels up the cup rather than around it. The palette is the Southwest one: terracotta, turquoise, mustard and a deep charcoal holding it together.
