The story behind this design

Filling a frame entirely with canopy removes the horizon, and without a horizon the eye reads colour before depth. That is the intention: layered yellows and reds pressed up against each other with only narrow dark gaps between trunks. At panoramic ratios the effect becomes a band of colour across a wall rather than a window onto a scene.
