Vintage Botanical Rose
About This Item
The DipaliZ Vintage Botanical Rose Pillow is a square throw pillow carrying a botanical rose study. Seven square sizes are offered, 14 through 28 inches. The rose is shown whole: bloom, stem, leaves and thorns, in the manner of an old plate illustration. A single-subject pillow like this gives a sofa a focal point rather than adding more pattern to it.

The story behind this design
Botanical plates were made for identification, not decoration, which is why they include the parts a decorator would leave out: the thorn, the turned leaf, the bud that has not opened. This rose keeps all of them. The color is held back to a muted rose-pink against cream, so the drawing reads first and the color second, which is the reverse of most floral cushions.
Frequently asked questions
Q: What sizes does the rose pillow come in?
A: Seven square sizes: 14, 16, 18, 20, 24, 26 and 28 inches.
Q: What style is the rose artwork?
A: A vintage botanical study, with the rose drawn whole and its stem, leaves and thorns shown rather than cropped away.
Q: Would this make a good gift?
A: Yes. A botanical rose pillow is a common Mother's Day and housewarming gift, and the smaller 14 and 16 inch sizes post more easily.
Q: Is the pillow square or lumbar?
A: Square. All seven sizes on this listing are squares.
Care
Spot clean, or machine wash a removable cover cold on a gentle cycle and air dry. Keep out of direct sunlight to hold the muted color.
