The story behind this design

The flowers and butterflies here are drawn in the manner of a nineteenth-century botanical plate, with fine stipple shading and labels left off. The palette is washed out on purpose, all dusty rose, ochre and faded teal, so the cover reads as aged paper. It was made for somebody who finds new florals too loud.
